Teaching Awards open for application

Are you doing amazing things with your teaching? Do you often get praise from colleagues and feedback from students that suggests you might be doing something right? Maybe you have been trying something new in your teaching and are just starting to see positive results? If this sounds familiar, perhaps it’s time you considered applying for a teaching award to get recognition for your efforts.

The following awards are available to academic staff engaged with teaching, whether in teaching specialist or balanced roles, and are currently open for application:

Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching recognise exceptional teaching practice by individuals and teams across the University. Each winner (either individual or team) is presented with a Certificate and receives a prize of $5000. Submissions close 1 November.

Vice-Chancellor’s Innovation in Teaching Awards recognise teaching innovations designed to improve student learning in online, blended or face-to face courses, focussing focus on newer initiatives that have commenced within the preceding 18-month period. Each winner (either individual or team) is presented with a Certificate and receives a prize of $2000. Submissions close 1 November.

Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) comprise four Award types promoting and recognising excellence in learning and teaching: Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, Program Awards, Teaching Awards and the Award for Australian University Teacher of the Year.
