Posted on: July 8th, 2011 by Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences

kostas_mavromarasProfessor Kostas Mavromaras provided a presentation to the Southern Suburbs Coordination Group (SSCG) on a report done for the Southern Adelaide Economic Development Board. The report provided an analysis of educational attainment across the region and how education impacts the economic potential of regions.

The Southern Suburbs Coordination Group comprises CEOs/senior representatives from Flinders University, the Cities of Marion, Onkaparinga, Mitcham and Holdfast Bay, and a number of State agencies. The focus of the group is on facilitating Southern Adelaide’s shift to a new economic base and broad economic regeneration. Through discussion of issues and provision of information, all members develop a stronger understanding of the south from a range of perspectives, which then informs their decision-making within their agencies.
