The Productivity Commission recently released its wide-ranging report “Caring for Older Australians”. The report draws heavily on the findings of a number of commissioned studies conducted by NILS research team on the profile of the current aged care workforce (refer to Chapter 14 of the report). NILS continue to produce workforce research for the Department of Health and Ageing. It has just been commissioned to implement the 3rd National Aged Care Workforce Census and Survey (previous versions were in 2003 and 2007).
