Student Placement Support Officer wins Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to Pene Curtis, Flinders NT Student Placement Support Officer on winning the 2019 Volunteer of the Year Award for Tennant Creek.

For many years Pene has volunteered willingly, effectively and with resilience, making a significant contribution to many organisations including the Tennant Creek Country Women’s Association and the Tennant Creek Rotary Club.

Pene is also currently a board member of the Barkly Region Alcohol and Drug Abuse Advisory Group, the Tennant Creek Women’s Refuge and the Tennant Creek Centralian Health Board where her extensive knowledge of bush communities has proved invaluable.

Described as one of life’s quiet achievers and a good friend to many people, Pene has balanced her family, work and voluntary commitments with aplomb, volunteering tirelessly with good cheer and enthusiasm.
