Botanical Exhibition to run until February 2011

Make sure you visit the display in the Noel Stockdale Room and Library entrance, curated by Dr Lance McCarthy, to celebrate the bicentenary of the publication of two influential botanical works resulting from research made on Matthew Flinders’ Investigator voyage: Robert Brown’s On the Proteaceae of Jussieu and Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiaeand Ferdinand Bauer’s Illustrationes Florae Novae Hollandiae. Lance McCarthy will be in attendance from 11.30-2 on Friday 17 December to discuss the exhibition with visitors. The exhibition will close on Friday 18 February 2011.
For the duration of the exhibition, the Noel Stockdale Room will be open between 9.30 am and 5pm on weekdays, unless previously booked. Please contact Special Collections, phone 8201 5238 before making a special trip to see the exhibition as the Noel Stockdale Room is heavily booked during January and February.
