New Requesting Service

The library is expanding its requesting service. If you are a current Flinders staff or student you will now be able to request items directly off the shelf at any branch and we will collect it for you to pick up later.

Simply look up your item and place your request via FindIt@Flinders and select a pick up location at the library branch most convenient to you. Once we have retrieved it from the shelf we will send you an email letting you know it is ready to be picked up.

You can place the request at anytime, anywhere, on any device with internet access. If the item you request is on the shelf and you place your request by 9am, the item will be available for collection from midday. If it is coming from another branch or at weekends it will take a little longer. Note that until we have retrieved the item from the shelf and you have received the notification email, it is still available for other users to borrow.

A small amount of items are not available for requesting – this includes 2 hour loans and any ‘not for loan’ items. However, you can place a request on most library items including 7 day loan items from the text book collection.

Full details on what can be requested as well as information on how to place a request can be found on our Requesting and Collecting webpages.
