Flinders to host 20th annual ANZORS conference

The 20th annual Australian New Zealand Orthopaedics Research Society (ANZORS) meeting will be held in Adelaide on 21-23 September 2014, hosted by Flinders University – http://www.anzors.org.au/annual-conference.html

Held at Flinders Victoria Square, the 3-day program will feature oral presentations in biomedical imaging and biomechanics by Medical Device Research Institute (MDRI) members Professor Mark Taylor, Dr Egon Perilli and Dr Saulo Martelli, whilst Dr John Costi and Dr Egon Perilli will be session chairmen.

Among the speakers MDRI PhD students Melissa Ryan, Rosidah Ab-Lazid, Bryant Roberts, Dhara Amin and Isaac Lawless will also present their research.

Event host, Dr Egon Perilli said that this year’s event will be the biggest so far for the society, with a record number of abstracts received and delegates registered.

“We received more than 80 abstracts from Australia and NZ which is fantastic for this growing conference,” Dr Perilli said.

ANZORS represents a stream of basic and applied scientists ranging from molecular biology to biomechanics and bioengineering, orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists and industry scientists who have passion, dynamics and motivation to pursue orthopaedic research.

Earlier this year Flinders University’s MDRI hosted an International Orthopaedics Workshop in Adelaide, bringing together leading experts from Austria, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia.
