Dr Cameron Shearer to take part in Australia China Young Scientist Exchange Program

Flinders NanoCentre Research Associate Cameron Shearer has been selected to take part in the Australia-China Young Scientist Exchange Program (YSEP), a joint initiative funded by the Australian Department of Industry and Science and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology. This involves a two-week idea and research exchange including 16 Australian and 16 Chinese researchers from the fields of Science and Engineering.
Dr Shearer will visit several major Chinese research institutions including the Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Sciences, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University in November 2015 in order to showcase his research and the capabilities of the Flinders Centre for NanoScale Science and Technology.
The exchange program hopes to bring together future science leaders from Australia and China to foster long term relationships to increase early and mid-career Australian and Chinese researchers’ understanding of the cultures, particularly the science and research practices of the two countries and provide a catalyst for future Australia-China research collaborations.
