Flinders Comment Notify Plugin
When a new comment is added to the blog this plugin will send an email to notify users that a new comment has been added. The email will be sent to
- The author of the post
- If necessary, any users with the editor capability
- If necessary, any users with the administrator capability
- If necessary, the primary administrator (User ID 1)
By default only the author of the post will be sent an email. The options can be changed by using the Comment Notification page under the Settings menu. The options page can be seen in the screenshot below.
Installation Instructions
- Download the zipped plugin archive file
- Extract the contents of the archive file
- Upload the
flinders-comment-notifydirectory to thepluginsdirectory in your WordPress installation directory - Activate the plugin
Configuration Instructions
Once the plugin is activated:
- Click on the Settings link
- Click on the Comment Notification link
- If you want to notify editors of your blog of a new comment
- Ensure the Email Editors of this blog option is ticked
- If you want to notify administrators of your blog of a new comment
- Ensure the Email Administrators of this blog option is ticked
- If you want to exclude the primary administrator (user ID 1) from notifications
- Ensure the Exclude the primary administrators option is ticked
- Click the Save Changes button
The options screen will also show a list of users of in your blog who have the editor or administrator capabilities.
