Flinders University has signed the Organisational Deed of Licence for Longitudinal Surveys with Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. Under this agreement, researchers from our university can apply for access to the recently released:
Wave 1 of Footprints in Time - Longitudinal Study of Indigenous Children (LSIC)
More information about this dataset is available here - http://www.fahcsia.gov.au/sa/indigenous/progserv/families/lsic/Pages/default.aspx
Researchers and postgraduate students who would like to use LSIC in their research, can contact Flinders University Data Manager - Pawel Skuza (stats.consultant@flinders.edu.au) for further information about the application procedure.
Furthermore, our researchers can also apply for access to data from two other longitudinal studies provided under our agreement with FaHCSIA:
- Growing Up in Australia: The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC)
- The Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) also makes a range of data available to university researchers. Some of the data is classified as Confidentialised Unit Record Files (CURFs). CURFs contain unidentified unit record data from most of the key ABS social and labour household surveys. Strict provisions concerning confidentiality and access govern their use. Currently there are more than 100 datasets available.
