Professor Fran Baum to co-edit best-selling Oxford Textbook on Global Public Health

Professor Fran Baum, AO, Southgate Institute, has been asked to join the editorial team for the best selling Oxford Textbook on Global Public Health. The textbook is currently in its 6th Edition. In late June Fran attended a meeting of the team of editors at Oxford University Press in Oxford. At the meeting the editors planned the 7th Edition and determined the contents of the 111 chapters which will form the new edition. She was glad the other editors agreed to a new chapter on Qualitative Research Methods in Public Health. Fran will be responsible for editing 22 of the chapters and is very much looking forward to working with the other editors and the chapter authors.

Fran is pictured here with her co-editors: Professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim (University of Durban, South Africa), Professor Roger Detels (who has edited the Oxford Textbook since the 1st edition) (University of California, Los Angeles – UCLA); and Alastair Leyland, University of Glasgow, Scotland and the Oxford University Press, Commissioning Editor Caroline Smith.
The 7th Edition will be published in late 2019.
