I’m finally home, after a number of long flights with little leg room and too many babies in too close proximity. But that didn’t dampened any part of the experience whatsoever! I became very fond of Japan and it was really quite emotional having to say goodbye to the incredible students and experienced teaching staff who I became such good friends with. I met people from all around the world who came together with the common purpose of seeking inspiration from a diverse range of people, and extending our knowledge on the topical issue of refugees in global society. And purpose achieved! The amount of knowledge I gained and friends I made has astounded me. My interest in the issues of migration and displacement has been strengthened beyond belief. The Hiroshima INU experience has provided me with the confidence and knowledge to begin my own journey on a human rights law career path. It is exciting and comforting to know that I now have 100 friends from around the world to seek inspiration from and call on for advice or support. My experience at the INU conference has been invaluable and I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity. For anyone reading this, apply! do it! get involved!
