{"id":1080,"date":"2021-10-06T09:00:30","date_gmt":"2021-10-05T22:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/alumni-stories\/?p=1080"},"modified":"2021-10-06T16:29:52","modified_gmt":"2021-10-06T05:59:52","slug":"timkittel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/alumni-stories\/2021\/10\/06\/timkittel\/","title":{"rendered":"Helping vulnerable populations by expanding your sphere of influence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\nIn 2019 Tim Kittel (BSpPath \u201801) became the President of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.speechpathologyaustralia.org.au\/SPAweb\/\">Speech Pathology Australia<\/a>, the national peak body for the speech pathology profession in Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a speech pathologist at Headstart Intervention Services in Adelaide, Tim works with children and adolescents with a range of developmental disorders including Language Disorder, Social Communication Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.<\/p>\n<p>He gained an Honours Degree in English Literature before completing his Speech Pathology degree at Flinders University in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>As a practicing speech pathologist, Tim has spent time in both the United Kingdom and Australia, where he has worked in a range of health and disability settings, and chiefly in senior roles within the education sector.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 he was invited to apply for a Board position.
