But it was the program’s emphasis on real-world experience that truly set it apart for him.

“The opportunity to undertake a nine-month research project with industry partners was particularly appealing.”

He credits much of his success to the mentorship of his research supervisor, Dr Liu-Fei Tan.

“She motivated me during moments I was ready to give up. Her guidance made all the difference.”

During his time at Flinders, Yunus also served as an International Student Ambassador — his first experience in a professional environment. I aim to lead teams in developing innovative biotechnological processes that address critical healthcare challenges.”

Reflecting on his journey, he says choosing Flinders was one of the best decisions of his life.

“It helped turn a dream into a career.”

For Al Mohammad Yunus (Yunus) Soni (MBiotech, ’23), the dream of becoming a scientist began in childhood long before he could distinguish one field of […]

[5838,828,3983

post-2021","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-2025-vital-connections","category-college-of-medicine-and-public-health","category-international
["GET
