Readers will notice in the stories in this newsletter, the Advanced Studies medical students work focused on Borderline Personality Disorder, which is informed by data from 2 large surveys led by Janne.

We are also involved with translation projects involving the Practical Guide to working with carers of people with a mental illness, the most recent being a project funded by the Road Home at the Jamie Larcombe Centre here in South Australia, and previously with Ramsay Healthcare. FHBHRU has also successfully been awarded funding for their recent applications to The 2018 Flinders Foundation Health Seed Research Grant. The first project titled ‘Supporting workforce practice change: A pilot study of a Motivational Interviewing virtual-patient software tool for health professionals’ authored by Professor Sharon Lawn and her team. The research team would like to acknowledge great work from Dr Candice Oster and her huge effort to make the application successful. Thank you Candice.

The second project, in the role of Associate Investigator, Professor Sharon Lawn and Professor Michael Baigent in Professor Paul Ward’s project titled ‘ Doctors’ Mental Health and Suicide Risk: Structural Risk and Resilience Factors’.
