The ARC received over 100 Centres of Excellence expressions of interest and has invited 18 through to the next stage.<\/p>\n<p>The collaborative application boasts 19 Chief Investigators (of which 9 are Flinders academics), 22 Partner Investigators, and 43 Partner Organisations, including Monash University, the University of Western Australia, the University of Technology Sydney, key Australian Government agencies, Indigenous and non-Indigenous NGO\u2019s and community organisations, and international stakeholders including some of the world\u2019s leading universities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong> Centre of Excellence for Prisoner Reintegration<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flinders University Chief Investigators:<\/strong> Professor Mark Halsey, Professor Ian Goodwin-Smith, Professor Svetlana Bogomolova, Associate Professor Caitlin Hughes, Dr Simone Deegan, Dr Melissa de Vel-Palumbo, Professor James Smith, Associate Professor Selina Tually and Professor Gerry Redmond.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARC Linkage Grant \u2018Social prescribing: linking Australian social, health and community sectors\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are excited to announce that a new cross-college collaboration led by Professor Svetlana Bogomolova (Centre for Social Impact) and Dr Candice Oster (Caring Futures Institute) has been funded by an Australian Government ARC Linkage grant. The project will involve working with social, health and community sectors to develop a new \u2018social prescribing\u2019 model to \u201ctackle growing unmet social needs of people experiencing disadvantage\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to team with six partners, including at federal, state and local government levels, to co-design, implement and evaluate a better way to connect Australians experiencing vulnerabilities to essential social and community services. The report, written by Jenna Mizzi, Associate Professor Caitlin Hughes, Professor Mark Halsey, Professor Jen Cleary, Dr Simone Deegan and Professor Ian Goodwin-Smith, explores challenges and solutions to the problem of short custodial stays in regional South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnderstanding the needs of those on short custodial stays upon their subsequent exit from prison to regional communities is critical if we are to meet those needs. The research team, Dr Jung Yoon, Professor Ian Goodwin-Smith, Associate Professor Janice Jones, Dr Claire Hutchinson and Dr Ashokkumar Manoharan, facilitated a conference that highlighted case studies from various hotels across Adelaide.<\/p>\n<p>Diversity Pathways is a Department for Social Services funded project, aiming to build employer confidence in employing people with cognitive disability.
