WIL Review

The WIL Review which is being led by Professor Jan Orrell, is now halfway through the 16-week schedule and planned to conclude in September. This first half has focused on information gathering and taken an inclusive approach through extensive consultation across the university with both experienced and senior academic and professional staff. In addition, a series of process mapping workshops have been organised with the WIL teams to map the current business processes and systems across the lifecycle of WIL. These workshops are providing a comprehensive insight into the complexities and detailed steps involved in organising and supporting WIL placements. The collated data will inform priorities and actions for streamlining processes and highlight recommendations for inclusion in the report at the end of the review period.

The second half of the Review will focus on developing a vision for positioning WIL within the strategic framework of the University and identify a model and approach at an institutional and course level which gives consideration of approaches to learning and pedagogy of WIL and enables the connection between WIL and employability.
