{"id":897,"date":"2020-08-28T11:14:55","date_gmt":"2020-08-28T01:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/cilt\/?p=897"},"modified":"2023-06-27T14:08:54","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T04:38:54","slug":"draft-assessment-policy-consultation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/cilt\/2020\/08\/28\/draft-assessment-policy-consultation\/","title":{"rendered":"Draft Assessment Policy Consultation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A review of the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/content\/dam\/documents\/staff\/policies\/academic-students\/assessment-policy.pdf\">Assessment Policy<\/a> has been undertaken as part of the Policy Redesign Project with a focus on student success. Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) survey data indicates there is room for improvement in relation to teaching quality and assessment. In addition, did you know that in 2019 just over 45% of all internal student complaints were assessment related?<\/p>\n<p>The review has been overseen by a Working Group, Chaired by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching Innovation) and with representation from each of the six Colleges, as well as representatives of the student body.<\/p>\n<p>The Working Group is now keen to get your feedback.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed principles for a redeveloped Assessment Policy and recommended positions on key procedural matters were presented to academic staff, portfolio staff and students through a series of preliminary consultation workshops held in the first half of 2020. Six staff workshops were held at various campus locations and online to enable participation by staff from all Colleges and locations. Three separate student workshops were offered, with students able to participate either in person or online, and a paper was presented to the Student Council.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/policies\/comment-draft-policies\">draft Assessment Policy, Procedures and supporting documents<\/a> (as well as other guides and resources to be developed) are intended to work together as a framework that supports student success in the way it fosters and certifies students\u2019 learning and provides opportunities for them to reflect on and monitor their learning progress.<\/p>\n<p>We now seek feedback on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/policies\/comment-draft-policies\">draft Assessment Policy and supporting documents<\/a>.
