When we asked HDR students how Inspire could improve, they told us they wanted the ability to set their own career focus and goals and have the system track these.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In response to this feedback, the Office of Graduate Research (OGR) has once again collaborated with Digital Research Services (DRS) to create a new module in Inspire \u2014 the\u00a0<\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Career Planning<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> module. This was released to students and launched at DocFest on the 5th of September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Career Planning module allows you to:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\u00b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Set a primary and secondary career focus, by selecting one of: academic, industry, or entrepreneurial.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\u00b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Set goals with completion dates and activities corresponding to your selected career focus.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\u00b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">See your goals on your landing page in Inspire\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">adjust timeframes should the need arise.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\u00b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">See\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">completed\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">goals appear in your \u2018completed activities log\u2019 that feed into your next Milestone Review and manage your own progress.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\u00b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Change\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">your career focus, goals, dates, and activities at any time.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:240,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>First Exams Release &#8211; Nomination of Examiners and Intention to\u00a0Submit<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On the 18th of October, DRS released the first stage of the HDR Examination process into Inspire.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-AU\" xml:lang=\"EN-AU\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\">This release includes a student\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-AU\" xml:lang=\"EN-AU\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\">intention to submit<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-AU\" xml:lang=\"EN-AU\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\">\u00a0milestone that triggers the\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-AU\" xml:lang=\"EN-AU\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\">nomination of examiners<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-AU\" xml:lang=\"EN-AU\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW155495433 BCX0\"> process for the HDR supervisors. <span class=\"TextRun SCXW182638434 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-AU\" xml:lang=\"EN-AU\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW182638434 BCX0\">The streamlining of this process is expected to improve turnaround times for HDR examinations and further examinations developments will be released later this year.
