{"id":258,"date":"2019-03-08T13:51:29","date_gmt":"2019-03-08T03:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/dsts\/?p=258"},"modified":"2024-04-17T10:07:54","modified_gmt":"2024-04-17T00:37:54","slug":"online-invigilated-exams-at-flinders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/dsts\/2019\/03\/08\/online-invigilated-exams-at-flinders\/","title":{"rendered":"Online Invigilated Exams at Flinders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Online Invigilation Pilot Update<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Online Invigilation Pilot is ready for Semester 1 and will deliver\u00a0the University\u2019s first online invigilated exams\u00a0for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/informationanddigitalservices.cmail20.com\/t\/r-l-jtkkjthy-uimidhhir-y\/\">Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)<\/a>,\u00a0in Semester 1, 2019 at Flinders.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staff.flinders.edu.au\/colleges-and-services\/ids\/dsts\">Digital Student and Teaching Services<\/a>\u00a0have partnered with Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching, Student Administration Services (SAS),\u00a0College of Business Government and Law (BGL) and other\u00a0key stakeholders to working together\u00a0to ensure we provide the best possible experience for students and provide support to academics and professional staff with the new processes and technology solution, RPNow,\u00a0throughout the pilot.<\/p>\n<h3>How does\u00a0an Online Invigilated exam\u00a0work?<\/h3>\n<p>An online exam (quiz) is\u00a0created in FLO\u00a0by the Topic Coordinator. An associated \u2018session\u2019\u00a0is created in\u00a0RPNow, stipulating the exam conditions, such as timing, duration and any passwords required.\u00a0Students will undertake a\u00a0brief authentication process\u00a0before being directed to their exam.<\/p>\n<p>The session records the student and their screen during the exam\u00a0using their\u00a0webcam\u00a0and\u00a0microphone. Once the student has completed the exam and \u2018submitted\u2019,\u00a0it\u00a0is sent\u00a0via RPNow\u00a0to invigilators. The invigilators watch each recording, highlighting where potential issues related to academic integrity\u00a0may have occurred.
