February is Fruit and Veg Month

Good nutrition is essential throughout life to promote good health and to prevent chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and associated risk factors such as overweight and obesity.

Eating more fruit and vegetables and replacing sugary drinks with water are two effective strategies along with eating healthily overall which can assist with maintaining a healthy weight and reducing the risk of chronic diseases developing

Healthy Eating Local Programs and Policies (HELPP) in the School of Medicine at Flinders recognises that eating is enjoyable and that sharing food and eating together play an important social role, particularly in local government and non-government settings. Read more . . .
