Care, attention, time and dedication

There’s always been a weird rivalry between doctors and nurses. I don’t get it, because without the amazing nurses out there, I would never be able to do my job as a junior doctor.

I’ve learnt a lot about patient care from the nursing staff, be they enrolled nurses, registered nurses or midwives. They know more about the patients that I ever would; they alert me to when things might be going wrong; they’ve saved my butt plenty of times.

Without nurses, heaven help our patients. Thank you for helping me do my job as a doctor, and thank you for your care, attention, time and dedication to the patients.
