A community fundraiser event held in Yankalilla on Friday 17 January raised over $6,000 to support the research of Flinders University’s Hand and Upper Limb Unit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Julie Vanzo,\u00a0horse rider and adventurer, underwent three surgeries and years of rehabilitation to regain the use of her upper arm and shoulder following an accident.<\/p>\n

Ever grateful for the support and research of the Hand and Upper Limb Unit at Flinders University, Julie brought together the local community, Flinders staff and patients for a supper, silent auction and raffle, to raise funds for further research.<\/p>\n

Guests heard from Professor Greg Bain on the important orthopaedic research underway at Flinders University and the innovation that is within reach through investment in the field.<\/p>\n

An artwork (pictured) donated by renowned artist Robert Hannaford will be auctioned at a private sale to add to the proceeds.<\/p>\n
