Flinders University is mourning the loss of four members of the University community, each leaving a lasting legacy in their respective fields. Read below the impact each has had on our history over the years.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"Dr Barry Boettcher AM \u2013 esteemed academic and Flinders University Football Club legend <\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr Boettcher, called by all at Flinders \u2018The Doc\u2019, was an integral part of the formation of Flinders University Football Club. Professionally, Dr Boettcher was an Emeritus Professor of Biological Sciences, who went on to become an expert witness in many legal cases. He is survived by his wife, Moira, sons Karl, Todd and Craig, daughter Kristine, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

It is with great sadness that Flinders University acknowledges the recent passing of Emeritus Professor Don DeBats, who made an extraordinary contribution to Flinders University over more than five decades predominantly as a Professor of American Studies. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the recent passing of Foundation Head of Women\u2019s Studies at Flinders University, Professor Lyndall Ryan AM FAHA.
