 Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2

To support promising research that has high potential to lead to or make breakthroughs in breast cancer.  The Breakthrough Award is structured with four different funding levels. The levels are designed to support major (but not all) stages of research that will lead to clinical application. Each level has a defined research scope.

Maximum award: USD 2,000,000

Closing date: 8 Aug

 Era of Hope Scholar Award

Supports individuals early in their careers who have demonstrated significant potential to effect meaningful change in breast cancer. These individuals should be exceptionally talented scientists who have shown that they are the “best and brightest” in their field(s).

Maximum award: USD 3,000,000

 Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium Development Award

To provide successful applicants the time and resources needed to bring investigators and breast cancer advocates together to establish a consortium framework and conduct preliminary research to support application to a future, full Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium Award (pending availability of funds). This is a development award and is a separate mechanism from the full consortium award.

Maximum award: USD 100,000

Breakthrough Award Level 4

The intent of the Breakthrough Award is to support promising research that has high potential to lead to or make breakthroughs in breast cancer.  The Breakthrough Award is structured with four different funding levels. The levels are designed to support major (but not all) stages of research that will lead to clinical application. Each level has a defined research scope.

 Innovator Award

Supports visionary individuals who have demonstrated exceptional creativity, innovative work, and paradigm-shifting leadership in any field including, but not limited to, breast cancer. The Innovator Award will provide these individuals with the funding and freedom to pursue their most novel, visionary, high-risk ideas that could accelerate progress to ending breast cancer.

Maximum award: USD 7,000,000

Closing date: 26 Sept

 Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium Award

Designed to support collaborations and ideas that will transform the lives of individuals with, and/or at risk for, breast cancer and will significantly accelerate progress toward ending breast cancer. Applicants must bring together different perspectives to develop new paradigms that will solve fundamental yet overarching problems in breast cancer.
