{"id":937,"date":"2021-02-24T12:20:26","date_gmt":"2021-02-24T01:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fcic-now\/?p=937"},"modified":"2021-02-24T12:23:27","modified_gmt":"2021-02-24T01:53:27","slug":"adelaide-microbiome-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fcic-now\/2021\/02\/24\/adelaide-microbiome-community\/","title":{"rendered":"Monthly meeting to bring together Adelaide&#8217;s Microbiome research community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">Dr Michael Doane and Professor Rob Edwards are pleased to announce the commencement of the new FAME microbiome and metagenome monthly meetings, to be held in the function room at the Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club at the Glenelg foreshore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">Each month the meeting will include two 20-minute talks highlighting the latest advances in metagenomics and microbiome studies, with one talk focused on human microbiology and the other on environmental microbiology. Following the talks will be a social hour with a hosted bar.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">The venue will be open at 3.45 pm for a 4 pm start for the talks. The social hour will be from 5 pm to 6 pm. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">The Glenelg SLC is conveniently located adjacent to the Moseley Square Tram Stop, and parking is available underneath the venue. If you choose to drive and park, please obtain a ticket and pay inside the SLC for discounted parking ($4 total).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">Meetings are scheduled for the following Tuesdays, so please mark your calendars:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">March 23<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">April 27<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">May 25<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">June 29<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">July 27<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\"> Dr. Feargal Ryan from SAHMRI and Dr. Michael Doane from Flinders University will talk at the first meeting.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;color: black\">For more information contact Michael Doane (<a href=\"mailto:Michael.doane@flinders.edu.au\"><span style=\"color: #0563c1\">Michael.doane@flinders.edu.au<\/span><\/a>) or Rob Edwards (<a href=\"mailto:Robert.edwards@flinders.edu.au\"><span style=\"color: #0563c1\">Robert.edwards@flinders.edu.au<\/span><\/a>).
