The 2nd Asia Pacific Conference on Point of Care Testing for Infectious Diseases (POC 2025) was held on the 19th-21st June in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together global leaders in point-of-care testing.
The International Centre for Point-of-Care Testing (ICPOCT) was well represented by the First Nations Molecular Point-of-Care Program and National Hepatitis C Program with collaborating partners from the Kirby Institute. In total there were two abstracts submitted directly associated with ICPOCT including two oral presentations.

Dr Susan Matthews, co-chaired the session on The Evolution of Infectious Disease Testing: Faster, Smarter, More Accessible Point-of-Care Testing focused on applications of novel assays for infectious disease testing in limited resources settings. Corey Markus co-chaired the panel session on Point Of Contact – Innovative sampling methods to expand access points beyond the clinic exploring the development lifecycle of alternative sampling methodologies, regulatory hurdles and implementation of testing into communities. Oral presentations were delivered by Kelly Andrewartha and Nina Alternetti, on the topics of systematic quality indicators and analytical performance for molecular point-of-care testing.
We would like to thank Dr Susan Matthews for her considerable contribution on the conference organising committee. The Centre looks forward to having a commanding presence at the next conference.
