From 2014, the census dates for both Semester 1 and 2 topics will fall on the last day of teaching week 5 of each semester, rather than March 31 and August 31 respectively.

This change is intended to provide schools and topic coordinators with a consistent time to identify and support students who might be at risk of withdrawing or failing in their first semester. It will also allow the University to better align the census dates and other key dates for students (for example fee deadlines, the last day to enrol in a topic) in both semesters.

To facilitate the change, please update all published material that include references to Semester 1 and Semester 2 census dates for 2014 and onwards, including webpages, course and topic guides, printed handbooks and calendars.
