eResearch@Flinders lunchtime seminar: ‘Unleashed’

‘Unleashed’ is the South Australian node of GovHack, an annual competition that brings together the community to work together in teams to create new ideas, websites, data visualisations, mobile apps and business concepts using open data. The aim is to find new ways to solve challenges facing government, industry and the community.

This year researchers will be encouraged to contribute data, along with all levels of government, NGOs, industry, and educational institutions. We will also encourage a broader range of participants including artists, makers, journalists, graphic designers, digital media, researchers, spatial experts and entrepreneurs to join the digital community.

Alysha Thomas is Program Manager for the SA Governemnt’s Open Data initiatives. In this session she will discuss how you can get involved in ‘Unleashed’ as a data provider or competitor, and how you can get access to state government data for your own research.

The seminar will be held on Tuesday 25 March 2014 from 12.30 to 1.30 pm in the Noel Stockdale Room, Central Library.
