Lecture by former US Ambassador on regional resources

Mr Jeffrey Bleich, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Australia will present a special lecture, ‘Getting Resources Right: Food, Water, Energy, Climate and Australasia’s Future’ at Flinders University Victoria Square on 25 March.

With 2.6 billion people estimated to be joining the middle class in Asia in under two decades, the region faces an unprecedented potential for strain on resources.

Ambassador Bleich will address the future challenges for ensuring adequate food, water, and energy, how climate change effects may complicate those challenges even further, and how today’s graduates can become part of the solution.

Comment will be provided by an expert panel of respondents comprising: Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive, Defence SA; Professor Victoria Farrar-Myers, Fulbright-Flinders Distinguished Chair; Flinders University; Professor Don DeBats, Head of American Studies and  Director, (US) Centre for United States and Asia Policy Studies

The event will be held on Tuesday, 25 March, beginning at 3.45pm for 4pm, on Level 1 of Flinders University Victoria Square. It will be followed by networking and refreshments from 5 to 6pm.
