Animal advocacy research project needs your vote

A project involving Flinders researchers is one of the nominees for a $15,000 grant for animal advocacy research to be determined by a People’s Choice Award.

Animal advocacy groups use a variety of images to challenge the public to think differently about animals but there is little scientific evidence to tell us what kind of images are most effective. Researchers at Flinders and Central Queensland University will conduct a study to determine what kind of images create the most effective challenge and whether they make people more responsive to animal advocacy campaigns.

Members of the Flinders community interested in supporting Dr Nik Stewart and the project can register a vote at the site, which is organised by Voiceless: the Animal Protection Institute.
