Focus group seeks paid participants

Flinders researchers are seeking past patients or family members and carers of people who have been in hospital for a new study.

The study aims to explore how family members and carers can be involved in recognising patient deterioration and trigger attention for their loved one through the hospital’s medical emergency team.

The research will explore ways in which previous patients, carers or family members of patients would like to be informed about how to gain rapid attention for a patient who is showing signs of clinical deterioration.

Participation involves an audio-recorded, 90-minute focus group. Personal details will be confidential and participants will receive a $30 reimbursement.

The focus groups currently coordinated are as follows:
Flinders Private Medical hospital: Wednesday 19 November, 6 to 7:30 pm
Teleconference Focus group: Wednesday 10 December, 5:30 to 7 pm
