Audio-visual training for teaching staff

With the upgrade of audio-visual equipment in teaching spaces and lecture theatres across the campus, Flinders teaching staff are being urged to take up an opportunity for training in its use.

Numerous teaching spaces have received major audio-visual upgrades to projection, room control panels and wireless microphones during the past two years, and there has been an an increase in teaching spaces equipped with lecture capture facilities.

The Information Technology Services audio-visual team highly recommend arranging a brief training session or a run-through of a teaching and learning space or lecture theatre prior to teaching in it.

The training aims to inspire confidence in using the A/V equipment, to teach users to leave the facilities correctly for the next person, and to improve troubleshooting skills.

Please ring 12345 option 1, or email avsupport@flinders.edu.au to arrange for a training session or run-through.

A list of lecture theatres equipped with recording equipment is available here.

Staff are urged to check if their lectures are being recorded, as a lapel microphone must be worn, and should be positioned over the sternum. And where possible, staff should endeavor to test their DVD or internet resources prior to giving a lecture.
