SamThe University received extensive mainstream media coverage over the past week – some of the highlights are listed below.

Research by Dr Sam Elliott (Education) on the negative effects of parental post-game criticism on children’s sporting performances received national press coverage and was the subject of a Channel 10 news item.

Research by Dr Damien Riggs (Social and Policy Studies) into the motivation behind the decision to have children was the subject of an Advertiser article.

The Advertiser also ran stories on 76 year-old Flinders PhD graduate Rod Essary and on the graduation from Flinders of the first SA-trained optometry students, as well as profiling honorary doctorate recipient US geoscientist Professor Bill Fisher.

Graduate Dr Tom Nehmy was interviewed on ABC Radio 891 about his Flinders-based research on the perils of perfectionism
