Symposium on intercultural research celebrates honorary doctorate

Kohei smallResearchers from diverse fields will contribute to a symposium on interculturalism in research on October 1.

The Impact of Interculturalism on Research will feature speakers including Associate Professor Robert Phiddian (Humanities and Creative Arts), Dr Greg Simpson of the CSIRO, and Associate Professor Gerry Redmond (Social and Policy Studies).

These speakers, along with Centre for NanoCentre Science and Technology researchers, will be discussing what culture is, indigenous policy, their experiences with different cultures, and how these experiences have shaped and contributed to their research.

This special symposium celebrates the award to Professor Kohei Uosaki (National Institute for Materials Science, Japan) of an honorary degree by Flinders University. This degree will be conferred on 3 September:  the symposium will be on the following morning, October 1, from 9.15 at Flinders at Tonsley.
