Communicating science – Writing to Learn in biology

With Alan Alda in Australia this week talking about the importance of scientific communication, it is timely that the next Community of Practice meeting for Writing Across the Curriculum and Inside the Disciplines will focus on “Writing to Learn in First Year Biology”.

How do scientists learn to express their discoveries to their peers and to the wider community? You won’t want miss hearing from our colleagues, Drs Masha Smallhorne and Jeanne Young, about the range of strategies they use to help students develop and practice their writing in First Year Biology.

The session will be on Monday, 21 March, at 10am, in Room 4.42 of the Education Building.

More information about the Community of Practice is available at their website.
