Flinders in the news

Kate LAmong Flinders research and activities in this week’s mainstream media, Dr Kate Laver was interviewed on ABC radio news in her role as leader of a national research project proposing guidelines for diagnosing and treating dementia. The report was run locally and interstate.

Professor Colin Raston’s latest application of his Vortex Fluidic Device, which enables improved management of carbon nanotubes, received coverage in major Australian dailies including The Advertiser, as well as plenty of science media. There was also coverage by Channel 7 news of another VFD application that will allow effective reuse of waste wool.

Australasian Science magazine carried two articles featuring Flinders, referring to palaeontology research on megafauna by authors including Dr Trevor Worthy and on blue whale DNA research by Dr Catherine Attard, Associate Professor Luciana Moller and Professor Luciano Beheregaray.
