Health and safety events and resources for April

A range of health awareness events and resources for April have been complied by the Work Health and Safety Unit:

Be Alarmed – 3 April – change your smoke alarm battery.

World Health Day – 7 April – Beat diabetes.

Earth Day – 22 April – raising awareness to build a healthy, sustainable environment.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work – 28 April – this year ‘Workplace Stress: a collective challenge’ is the theme, today, many workers are facing greater pressure to meet the demands of modern working life.

Mental Health First Aid – Staff development course available, further information from PDU website.


From 1 February 2016, all University premises and sites, including all buildings, structures, car parks, outdoor areas and vehicles became a smoke-free, fresh air zone, except for a selected number of specifically designated outdoor areas. Further information available on the WHS Unit website.

Oasis A University Centre for hospitality, wellbeing and inclusive spirituality that aims to inspire a culture of care.

Flinders One Fitness are providing wellness programs during semester, zumba, yoga and bootcamp, free to students and a gold coin donation to everyone else, visit the website for further information.
