New Dean of Graduate Research

TaraTara Brabazon has taken up her appointment as the new Dean of Graduate Research and Professor of Cultural Studies at Flinders.

Professor Brabazon has previously worked in eight universities in four countries, including head of department and research leadership roles in the UK and Australia. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) and head of the Popular Culture Collective.

The winner of six teaching awards, spanning from first year through to doctoral supervision, she also won the Prime Minister’s Award for Humanities Teacher of the Year.  She has published 17 books, and over 150 refereed articles and book chapters.  Her research and supervision covers the areas of popular cultural studies, city imaging, regional development, creative industries, social media and information literacy.

Professor Brabazon remains a columnist and reviewer for the Times Higher Education, and is a former finalist for Australian of the Year and Telstra Businesswoman of the Year.
