Flinders in the news

HaydonAssociate Professor Haydon Manning’s numerous interviews with talk shows on ABC and commercial radio stations on the Federal budget and the start of the national election campaign have included analysis of election issues and also the report of the Royal Commission into the Nuclear Fuel Cycle. Some of his comments generated items in ABC radio news bulletins.

Channel 7 TV news carried a story on Flinders research using ground penetrating radar that has shown South Australian cemeteries frequently hold many more bodies than previously realised. Archaeologist Dr Ian Moffat from the School of Humanities was interviewed.

Recent articles in the Conversation have included a piece on arts and culture policy by Professor Julian Meyrick, an analysis of the award of the submarine contract by Professor John Spoehr, an assessment of the Budget reply by Dr Rob Manwaring and an essay on the irrational persistence of the search for the Loch Ness monster by Dr Allesandro Palci.
