Professionals Lecture on retirement planning and policy

EarlProfessor Phyllis Tharenou, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences invites you and your colleagues to attend a Professionals’ Lecture Series lecture by Associate Professor Joanne Earl of the Flinders Business School, Using Research to Inform Retirement Planning and Policy.

With data from the ABS estimating there are almost one million people in Australia without a plan for retirement, Associate Professor  Earl will present on predictors of retirement adjustment; the significance of resources across various domains including health, wealth, social, cognitive, emotional and motivational; how time perspective predicts retirement planning; and strategies for managing finances in the event of a decline in cognitive function.

She will discuss her research program and draw upon internationally published research findings to outline recommendations for better retirement planning and adjustment in retirement.

Associate Professor Earl joined the Flinders Business School in Jan 2016 as an Associate Professor in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. She is MBA Program Director, teaching in the postgraduate MBA and undergraduate programs. She is a registered Psychologist, a PhD in psychology, and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
