Ian Gibbins, Professor Emeritus in Anatomy and Histology and well known for his creative synthesis of art and science, currently has an installation piece as part of a group exhibition at the Adelaide Convention Centre running right through June.
The piece, based on some of his electron microscopic work, forms part of a show is called Body of Evidence, which was was commissioned to run alongside a major Cancer Carers conference. Professor Gibbins has two videos in the show as well, running from 22-25 June: one will be projected on the windows on the south-west corner of the Convention Centre overlooking North Terrace and Montefiore / Morphett St Bridge; the other on a giant LED screen in the Centre itself.
A link to a version of the LED video with audio can be found here.
Professor Gibbins is also working on another video commissioned by the Adelaide City Council to be projected onto a side of the Target Building in Rundle Street later in the year.
