Mid-year Break Roadworks Program

Coinciding with the University mid-year break, when traffic and car parking pressures are at a minimum, a number of roadworks will be undertaken between 4 – 19 July 2016. Full details of the works are below, however signage will be in place to notify you of these changes as necessary.

Ring Road

A portion of Ring Road, between Physical Sciences Road and Flinders Drive, will be closed between 4 and 19 July. This will also result in the closure of Biology Road, and car parks 7 and 8. Some minor works will also occur near the Ring Road Sturt pedestrian crossing on 18 and 19 July, however access will remain open at all times.

Sturt Drive

Portions of Sturt Drive will be restricted to one lane between 4 and 19 July with reduced speed limits and traffic control in place.

Car Park 5

A portion of the lower level of car park 5 (approximately 50 parks) will be unavailable between 9 and 19 July. The majority of CP5 will be unaffected and disability access car parks will still be available in car park 5 throughout this time.

Power outages

Minor power outages will take place on the weekends of 9/10 July and 16/17 July, affecting the following buildings:

  • Central Library
  • Student Hub
  • Union Building (Finance & International Student Centre)
  • Professional Services Building
  • Registry Building
  • Student Hub
  • Yunggorendi/Student Centre
  • Matthew Flinders Theatre/Drama Centre
  • SSN
  • SSS
  • Function Centre/Oasis
  • Humanities
  • Pendopo
  • Health Sciences & HSLTC
  • Flinders Living Precinct
  • Sturt Sports Pavilion

Most outages will occur between 6.00am to 7.30am, and be of very short duration. Buildings will remain open, however temporary emergency back-up power will be provided to essential services only, meaning lifts, lighting, and IT services will all be affected.

In particular, please note that power to the Student Hub will be affected between 4.00 and 4.30pm on Sunday 10th and Sunday 17th July.
