Flinders University’s restaurant and function venue, Alere, has been named ‘best new restaurant: South & West’ and ‘best new events caterer’ in the annual SA Restaurant & Catering Awards.

Award judges praised Alere’s friendly staff, its fantastic setting at Flinders’ campus and new Plaza, and the restaurant’s incredible ocean views.

The judges, who visited the restaurant to see for themselves, made specific comments about Alere’s hard working kitchen staff, the variety of its menu and its friendly serving staff.

“We were pleasantly greeted and guided to our table, which had a beautiful outlook,” they said.

Flinders staff can receive 30% off food and coffee at Alere and are encouraged to use the venue for lunches, evening catch-ups with colleagues and private business meetings.
