Students reading and writing – success, challenge, change

The topic of discussion for the first 2017 meeting of the Writing across the Curriculum & Inside the Disciplines Community of Practice will focus on developing student abilities for tertiary reading, writing and critical thinking.

Titled “Students Reading and Writing: Success, Challenge, and Change”, it will inform a discussion around what’s working well in literacy learning and pedagogy and what challenges educators still face across the disciplines.

Topics arising in this session will help focus future meetings of the CoP across the year. Please come along with your ideas for topics to discuss across the year’s meetings and we are happy for volunteers to lead sessions in coming months.

Please join our host, Sky Marsen, on Friday 31 March in Humanities room 262.

Participants should feel free to bring lunch and drop in to the session any time between 11.30 and 1.30pm. The plan is for an informal discussion rather than a presentation in this first meeting of the year.

All are welcome, so please share this announcement with your teaching teams and colleagues.
