Office 365 is being upgraded

On 10 April 2017, the University will upgrade its Office 365 online environment; the platform that hosts your email account (accessible online via your Flinders dashboard (Okta).

The upgrade merges the separate student and staff Office 365 environments into one, and provides a consistent experience to both staff and students.

Furthermore, the change allows a person at Flinders to have a single identity for their entire life here, whether they are a student, or staff, or move between the two.

The upgrade will not affect your staff email account. However, every student email address is changing to FAN@flinders.edu.au, instead of FAN@uni.flinders.edu.au.

In addition, after 18 April 2017 you will be able to:

  • request your corporate PC or laptop to be upgraded to Windows 10 (through the ITS Support Portal)
  • access OneDrive, which offers free, plentiful, and secure cloud data storage for all your files, wherever you are.

We strongly recommend you do both, to enable a much more effective environment for accessing all your files “on the go”.

More information is available on the FAQ for Office 365 Change, or for OneDrive specifically, at OneDrive for Business Support.

If you have any questions or feedback, contact the Office 365 Project Team.
