New agreement to access confidential European datasets

Flinders has signed an agreement with the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) to allow our researchers to apply for access to 12 new datasets.

Many of the datasets are longitudinal but also collected in the majority of the European countries.

The new agreement is in addition to existing arrangements with the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Department of Social Services (DSS).

The datasets are:
– European Community Household Panel
– European Union Labour Force Survey
– Community Innovation Survey
– European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions
– Structure of Earnings Survey
– Adult Education Survey
– European Road Freight Transport Survey
– European Health Interview Survey
– Continuing Vocational Training Survey
– Community Statistics on information Society
– Micro-Moments Dataset
– Household Budget Survey

While access to the data is free of charge, it involves the signing of Deed of Confidentiality and requires to provide to Eurostat a very detailed description of the research project, variables to be used, etc.

Further details about the data sets can be found on Eurostat Microdata website – http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/microdata

Researchers who will decide to apply for the data, need to contact pawel.skuza@flinders.edu.au

Additional information about access to ABS, DSS or Eurostat data can be found in http://www.flinders.edu.au/library/research/eresearch/statistics-consulting/restricted-access-data.cfm
