As part of our Health and Wellbeing program, Flinders in partnership with Bupa invite staff to a information seminar on 6 June.
The seminar will guide participants through a six step model (UCOPEA) for those wanting to master the art of “coping”.
The UCOPEA 6 Steps for Positive Coping and Resilience are:
U – Understand your feelings
C – Come to terms with the reality of the situation
O – Observe and reframe your thoughts
P – Problem solve
E – Evaluate how you’ve gone
A – Apply what you’ve learned
The session will:
Look at applying UCOPEA to improve coping skills both in and outside of work
Help attendees to look at the positives of everyday challenges and use these to improve their personal resilience
Provide practical ideas for managing unhelpful thoughts.
Two session will be held on 6 June 2017, one at the Bedford Park site and the other at Sturt.
