Noted ‘Agile’ expert visits Flinders

Renowned thought leader in the Agile software development community, James Shore, will be providing a coaching session to Flinders’ Information and Digital Services team on 29 September.

Agile Development is an iterative process of software creation that is considered to be more efficient, responsive and robust than other methodologies.

The Agile model involves small incremental software builds that allow IDS staff to respond more effectively to unpredictable scenarios and experiential feedback.

The Flinders IDS team will shortly be adopting the Agile methodology.

James Shore has been leading teams in Agile development since 1999 as an ‘immersion coach’ and continues to teach, write, and consult on Agile development processes.

James is an inaugural recipient of the Agile Alliance’s Gordon Pask Award for Contributions to Agile Practice and is co-author of The Art of Agile Development (O’Reilly, 2007).

In 2012, InfoQ named him one of the ‘most influential people in Agile’.

He writes about software development on his “Art of Agile” blog at http://jamesshore.com and he hosts the screencast series “Let’s Code: Test-Driven JavaScript” at http://letscodejavascript.com.
