Biomedical talent on display

Flinders’ biomedical talent will shortly be on display at the joint conference of the Australian New Zealand Orthopaedic Research Society (ANZORS) and the International Clinical Roentgen Stereophotogrammetric Analysis (RSA) Research Network.

The conference will take place from 6-8 October at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Several Flinders PhD and postdoctoral researchers will be giving presentations over the three-day event: Saulo Martelli, Sophie Rapagna, Melissa Ryan, Bryant Roberts, Dhara Amin, Dermot O’Rourke have been selected to give oral presentations and Saulo Martelli, Dhara Amin, Rami Al-Dirini will be giving poster presentations.

Chairs will include Dr Egon Perilli, Saulo Martelli and Rami Al-Dirini.

Flinders researcher Melissa Ryan has been shortlisted for the ECR Award and fellow researcher Dr Bryant Roberts has been shortlisted for the ANZORS PhD Award, both of which will be announced during the conference on Day Two (7 October).

Both researchers work at the Flinders Medical Device Research Institute.

Flinders University is a gold sponsor of the three-day ANZORS-RSA joint conference.

Also running from 6-8 October is the Asia Pacific Wrist Association (APWA) Congress, which will be chaired Professor Greg Bain at Flinders at Tonsley.

Thirty-five surgeons will be attending the Cadaveric Workshop on Day One and more than 100 delegates from around the Asia-Pacific be in attendance over Days Two and Three.
